Frequently discussed but infrequently understood, our skills contribute not only to our effectiveness at work, but also to our satisfaction. When we understand the skills we have, and can describe the skills we need, we become able to get what we need for ourselves before we need it, instead of waiting for someone else to tell us what to do.
In other words, the perspective of Skills can help us to like our work.
The problem is, the skills that are usually most important to our enjoyment of work are the hardest to describe. The perspective of Skills can help!
To build your own perspective of Skills, read Chapter 8 of Four Secrets to Liking Your Work.
To learn even more about it, follow the other links within this section.
